Good governance and democracy are the cornerstones of a stable and prosperous society. FACE is dedicated to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting civic participation, and fostering a culture of peace and justice. Our interventions focus on community-driven governance, conflict resolution, and enhancing access to justice.
a. Peacebuilding
Peace is essential for sustainable development, and FACE works to build social cohesion and resolve conflicts through community-driven initiatives.
- Community Dialogues: We facilitate inclusive dialogues between communities, local authorities, and civil society to address grievances, mediate conflicts, and promote reconciliation.
- Early Warning Systems: We establish and strengthen community-based mechanisms to detect and mitigate conflicts before they escalate into violence.
- Sports for Peace: Using sports as a unifying platform, we bring together youth from different ethnic and social backgrounds to foster coexistence and mutual understanding.
- Youth Coexistence Engagements: We empower young people through leadership training, cultural exchanges, and peace clubs that promote non-violent conflict resolution.
- Community-Based Reconciliation Campaigns: Our campaigns engage traditional leaders, religious figures, and grassroots organizations advocating for peace and social harmony.

b. Civic Education (Crosscutting Area)

FACE enhances community awareness of democratic principles, human rights, and civic responsibilities. We work with local leaders and organizations to educate citizens on electoral processes, governance structures, and their role in nation-building.

C. Access to Justice and Rule of Law
We advocate for legal empowerment and ensure marginalized populations can access justice and security services.
- Community Policing: Strengthening collaboration between local security agencies and communities to improve safety and trust.
- Legal Aid: Providing free legal support and representation to vulnerable individuals, particularly women, children, and internally displaced persons (IDPs).
- Mobile Justice: Deploying mobile courts and legal teams to remote areas to facilitate access to legal services and dispute resolution.
